Refining Fire in the Land Below the Wind: A Prophetic Call to Holiness and Revival in Sabah

Refining Fire in the Land Below the Wind: A Prophetic Call to Holiness and Revival in Sabah

1. The Fire of Refinement

> “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, two parts shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My Name, and I will hear them.” — Zechariah 13:8–9

Yahweh’s refining fire always burns before the dawn of His revival. Every nation, tribe, and people called by His Name must pass through the crucible of truth before they can carry His glory. In the same way, the people of Sabah stand today at a spiritual crossroads. The land below the wind is being weighed and sifted: not by politics, not by culture, but by the hand of the Living God who seeks a people purified in heart and truth.

When Scripture speaks of “two parts cut off and one part refined,” it shows a divine pattern—separation between what is true and what only appears to be true. Throughout the ages, Yahweh has done this work among every nation. The shaking that comes to Sabah is not for destruction but for purification, that a remnant might emerge who walk not in fear or tradition but in the pure light of Yeshua the Messiah.

2. Fellowship with the Works of Darkness

> “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11

“He who is not with Me is against Me.” — Matthew 12:30

To “have no fellowship with darkness” is not a call to despise people—it is a call to discern spirits. Darkness hides itself under many garments: religion without repentance, worship without obedience, politics without righteousness, and love that flatters but does not transform. Any system—spiritual or earthly—that draws the heart away from humble submission to Christ becomes an idol, no matter how noble its form.

In every generation the adversary imitates light. He imitates compassion, unity, and even faith, but without the Cross. The darkness says, “You can have peace without repentance; you can be spiritual without the Spirit; you can build heaven on earth without the Lamb.” But Yeshua said, “Without Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Wherever people attempt to preserve life apart from the Cross, the fruit becomes emptiness. Traditions may preserve identity, but only the blood of Christ can redeem destiny. The idols of fear, superstition, and self-reliance still whisper across the hills and coasts of Sabah, inviting the hearts of men to bow to what they can see rather than the unseen Creator. But the Spirit of Yahweh is calling His people to rise and expose these counterfeit lights—not by shouting at darkness, but by shining a brighter flame.

3. The Test of True Faith

Refinement is never comfortable. Silver must be melted before it shines. Gold must lose its dross before it reveals its worth. So too must the hearts of the people be tested. The trials that come to the land—economic pressure, moral confusion, natural disasters, and political storms—are not random. They are the furnace in which the faith of believers is proven genuine.

The question Yahweh asks of Sabah is the same He asked of ancient Israel: “Will you trust in horses and chariots, or will you trust in the Name of the Lord?” (Psalm 20:7) Will the people rely on human strength, or will they humble themselves under His mighty hand?

The prophetic word of Zechariah shows that two-thirds may fall away—symbolic of the majority who cling to outward religion but not inward transformation. Yet a remnant remains, a one-third refined, who will say, “Yahweh is my God.” They are not defined by denomination or tribe but by heart purity. This remnant is rising even now across Sabah: men and women who hunger for righteousness more than recognition, who choose obedience over comfort, and who weep for the sins of their land.

4. Without Me You Can Do Nothing

The Lord Yeshua spoke these words to His disciples in John 15. He warned them that apart from abiding in Him, they would bear no lasting fruit. Sabah is rich in talent, culture, and creativity, yet without the life of the Vine, even good works dry up. Development, education, and social programs may polish the surface, but only the indwelling Ruach HaKodesh can transform the roots.

The Holy Spirit is not a mere helper to human plans; He is the breath of life that reveals the will of the Father. When His presence departs, even religion becomes a lifeless shell. When He is present, barren hearts bloom like the hills after rain. The Spirit searches for those who will yield completely—those who say, “Not my will but Yours be done.” Through such vessels Yahweh rebuilds nations from the inside out.

5. The Counterfeit Spirit and the True

> “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” — 1 John 4:1

The conflict between the Ruach HaKodesh and the counterfeit spirit (ruach ha-satan) is real. One produces humility, purity, and peace; the other breeds pride, confusion, and control. The counterfeit spirit often imitates the gifts of God but lacks His character. It may stir emotion, promise power, or encourage compromise for the sake of unity. Yet the true Spirit always leads to the Cross—always exposes sin and always glorifies Yeshua.

Every revival in history began when believers discerned the difference. The Spirit of Truth convicts; the spirit of error flatters. The Spirit of Holiness builds community through repentance; the spirit of deception builds crowds through entertainment. In Sabah, the battle between these two influences intensifies. The Holy Spirit is hovering, seeking resting places—houses, churches, and hearts that welcome His fire without resisting His discipline.

6. The Land and Its Calling

Sabah’s diversity is both its beauty and its battlefield. The Creator designed this land as a meeting point of peoples, languages, and seas—a prophetic gate between East and West. But gates must be guarded. When the watchmen sleep, strange spirits enter. Where compromise and corruption creep in, the light dims.

Yet the Lord has not forgotten the covenant potential of this land. The same God who watched over the rice fields, rivers, and mountains also longs to reveal Himself as the true Minamangun, the Creator who formed both nature and soul. The time has come for the people to know not merely about God through tradition, but to know Him through the Son who was pierced for their transgressions.

Revival will not come through politics or imported religion but through hearts set ablaze by the revelation of Yeshua. As in Zechariah’s vision, when the people see “the One whom they have pierced,” mourning will turn to repentance, and repentance will open the heavens.

7. Exposing Darkness by Shining Light

Yeshua never told His followers to fight darkness with darkness. He said, “Let your light so shine before men.” Exposure happens naturally when light enters a room. To expose the unfruitful works of darkness in Sabah is to live in such holiness that compromise cannot survive near you. It is to walk in forgiveness that breaks the power of resentment, to practice justice that silences corruption, and to love truth more than comfort.

This is not passive tolerance; it is active righteousness. It means refusing alliances that deny Christ, declining practices that invoke other powers, and renouncing any covenant made in fear or greed. It means allowing the Holy Spirit to cleanse the ancestral and political altars of the heart. When believers walk in the opposite spirit—humility instead of pride, generosity instead of exploitation—the darkness is unmasked.

8. The Role of the Remnant

In every land Yahweh reserves a remnant. Their assignment is not to boast of special revelation but to intercede for mercy. They are the ones who rebuild the altar of worship, who stand in the gap when judgment threatens, who cry, “Spare Your people, O Lord.”

Sabah’s remnant may appear small, scattered in villages, towns, and prayer rooms, but they carry heaven’s authority. Through their obedience, the land will experience renewal. The promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 remains:

> “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

When the remnant lives in repentance, Yahweh heals economies, restores families, and breaks spiritual strongholds. The refining fire then becomes revival fire.

9. A Call to Awakening

Beloved of Sabah, the hour is late, but grace still calls. The shaking you feel—the uncertainty, the divisions, the storms—is the trumpet of heaven saying, “Return to Me.” The Father is not against this land; He is against the darkness that blinds it. His love burns like fire because He desires a pure bride for His Son.

Do not fear the fire. Welcome it. Let it consume the idols of self and tradition. Let it purify your motives and renew your mind. Out of the ashes will rise a people who walk in Spirit and truth, who know their God and do exploits (Daniel 11:32).

10. Prayer and Prophetic Decree for Sabah

> Father Yahweh,

We bow before You for the land below the wind. We confess that we have trusted in our own strength, feared men more than You, and mixed light with darkness. Forgive us, O Lord.

Let Your refining fire sweep across Sabah—not to destroy, but to cleanse. Burn away idolatry, corruption, and unbelief. Awaken every heart that bears Your name. Fill Your people with the Ruach HaKodesh, that we may walk in discernment and boldness.

We decree that Sabah belongs to the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Let the rivers, mountains, and villages echo with praise to the true Creator. Raise up intercessors and prophets of righteousness. Let every altar built to fear crumble, and let the altar of the Cross stand firm.

We declare: Yahweh is our God, and we are His people. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in this land as it is in heaven.

In the holy Name of Yeshua, Amen.

11. Closing Reflection

The prophetic word of Zechariah ends not with death but with reconciliation: “They shall call on My Name, and I will answer.” That is the promise for every people who turn back to God. The refining of Sabah will lead to the revealing of Yah’s glory. The fire that purifies will also illuminate; the shaking that humbles will also heal.

Let those who bear the name of Christ walk now in holiness, filled with His Spirit, exposing darkness by living as children of light. For the dawn is near, and the Lord is preparing a remnant whose hearts beat with His agapē love—a people through whom the nations will see that the Lord, He is God.
